West Pro-8 Differential Temperature Controller
The West Pro-8 is a 1/8 DIN single loop controller from West’s Pro series, sized between the compact Pro-16 and the larger Pro-4, with a built-in transmitter power supply and programmable profiler that make it well suited to processes needing more self-contained functionality than a basic controller offers. Configuration and diagnostics run through the same BluePort interface and BlueControl software used across the Pro range.
How It Works
Pro-8 accepts a universal input covering thermocouple, RTD, or DC linear mA/mV sensors, with external remote setpoint or heating current monitoring available for supervisory integration. Its up to five outputs can be configured as relay, logic/SSR driver, or DC linear mA/VDC, and two manually selectable PID sets allow separate heat and cool tuning parameters. A built-in 10-segment programmable profiler lets it step through a defined process sequence automatically, and a built-in transmitter power supply removes the need for a separate power source when wiring in field transmitters. Modbus RS422/485 RTU communications, including Modbus master configuration, connect it into a wider control system.
Key Features
- BluePort interface with BlueControl configuration software
- Universal input with external remote setpoint and heating current monitoring
- Up to 5 configurable outputs: relay, logic/SSR driver, or DC linear mA/VDC
- Built-in 10-segment programmable profiler
- Built-in transmitter power supply
- Modbus RS422/485 RTU with master configuration support
Applications
Pro-8 suits industrial single-loop applications that benefit from a built-in transmitter power supply and process profiling without the larger footprint of a 1/4 DIN controller, including plastics processing, ovens, and general industrial heating equipment.
