The Contrec 425 is a mass flow computer that reads a pulse or frequency signal from just about any flowmeter and gives a stable flow rate and totalised reading, with digital filtering built in to smooth out a pulsating signal so the rate display doesn’t jump around. We see this used across a wide range of flow applications where the customer needs a reliable local readout and totaliser, not just a raw pulse count.
It has two relay outputs for high and low flow alarms, and an optional isolated 4-20mA output if the reading needs to go to a PLC or SCADA system. RS232 and RS485 ports support ticket printing with timestamps and sequential numbering, useful for anyone who needs a paper record of each batch or delivery. It also supplies 8-24V DC to power the flowmeter transducer itself, so in a lot of installations no separate transducer power supply is needed.
Before we quote this, we would normally confirm the flowmeter’s pulse output characteristics, whether the 4-20mA output or ticket printing is actually needed, and whether the installation calls for the standard enclosure or an explosion-proof housing.
