West PlastX6 Plastics Extrusion Temperature Controller
An extrusion line lives or dies on zone-to-zone temperature control, and swapping between controllers and indicators across a barrel’s heating zones adds cost and complexity that most lines don’t need. The West PlastX6 consolidates both roles into a single 1/16 DIN unit, so any zone can run as a full PID controller, a heat/cool controller, or a simple indicator depending on what that position needs.
How It Works
A universal input accepts thermocouple, RTD, or DC linear signals, and up to three outputs — relay, SSR driver, or triac — cover heating and cooling duties with PID, on/off, or manual control plus ramp-to-setpoint for controlled startup. Because every unit can be configured as a controller or an indicator from the same hardware, a plant can standardize on one part number across an entire extrusion line rather than stocking two different products.
