The Setra 231 is a multi-configurable, wet-to-wet differential pressure transducer, built so one physical unit can cover several pressure ranges and applications instead of stocking a separate part number for each. The pressure range and output are both field-selectable, so it can be set up on-site to match what the job actually needs rather than what was ordered on paper.
In actual application, it can be fitted with an optional 3-valve or 5-valve machined brass manifold, which makes installation and maintenance easier and cuts down the risk of internal leakage at the process connections. The housing is a rugged NEMA 4 rated, die-cast aluminum, powder-coated enclosure with a hinged cover and an optional LCD display for a local pressure reading. Output is 0-5VDC, 0-10VDC or 1-5VDC (3-wire), or 4-20mA (2-wire, reverse excitation protected), running on 15-30VDC or 18-30VAC. Accuracy is ±1.0% FS on the lower range codes and ±2.0% FS on the highest range, with pressure connections on 1/8-18 NPT internal fittings and a 1/2-inch conduit opening for wiring.
From our experience, this is a common choice for energy management and process control systems, flow measurement of gases and liquids, level measurement in pressurised vessels, and filter differential pressure monitoring. Before we quote this, we would normally check the range code (MS1, MS2 or MS3), unidirectional or bidirectional, output signal, and whether a manifold or LCD display is wanted. Hope this helps.
