The Contrec 220i is a level monitor and tank contents display that takes a standard 4-20mA signal from a level sensor, whether that’s a pressure transmitter, an ultrasonic sensor, or a capacitance probe, and shows both the level and the actual tank contents on one display. We get this ordered a lot when a customer already has a 4-20mA level transmitter on a tank and just needs a clear local readout, without running a signal all the way back to a PLC or SCADA panel just to know how full the tank is.
What makes it useful for irregular tanks is the 25-point non-linearity correction table. A cylindrical tank on its side, or a tank with a dished end, doesn’t fill in a straight line with level, so this lets us program the actual volume curve into the unit instead of just showing a raw percentage that doesn’t match the real contents. It also has four alarm relay outputs, so high-high, high, low, and low-low points can each trigger something else, a pump, a valve, or a warning light, without needing a separate controller.
Since it runs entirely off the 4-20mA loop, there’s no external power or battery to plan for, which simplifies wiring quite a bit.
