We had an enquiry from a customer who needed a basic panel display for a process signal – a 0~10V or 4~20mA reading from a 2-wire transmitter measuring pressure, level, or similar. They wanted a straightforward indicator, not anything fancy, and assumed any 4-digit meter would do.
This looks simple, but you do need to check a couple of things before ordering. First, is your transmitter self-powered or a 2-wire loop-powered type that needs an excitation supply? The ADtek CM1-PR can supply 24VDC excitation for 2-wire sensors, so you don’t need a separate power supply for the transmitter loop. Second, what output do you need from the meter itself – because the CM1-PR ships with 2 of the following 3 options: 2 relay outputs, 1 analog output, or 1 RS485 (Modbus RTU) port, not all three at once.
In actual application, the CM1-PR is a compact 4-digit, 20mm high-brightness LED display in a housing only 72mm deep, so it installs into a shallow panel cutout. The setup buttons are built into the back of the front bezel, deliberately hidden so operators can’t accidentally change the settings – useful if the panel is in a busy production area. Accuracy is within ±0.1% of full scale, with a 14-bit A/D converter and digital calibration, and the display range and decimal point are all field-programmable. It’s commonly used for process alarms or feeding data back for communication/data collection, especially with 2-wire pressure or level transmitters.
From our experience, before we quote this, we would normally check your input signal type (0~10V, 4~20mA, or 2-wire transmitter needing excitation), and which 2 of the 3 outputs you need – relay, analog, or RS485 – so we can confirm the right order code. Hope this helps.
