West PA1-W04 Basic Remote Setpoint Input Board
The West PA1-W04 is a plug-in option board that adds a basic remote setpoint input to a West Plus Series temperature controller, letting the controller’s setpoint be driven by an external analog signal instead of being fixed at the front panel. It is a straightforward, cost-effective way to add remote setpoint capability to an existing Plus Series installation without replacing the controller itself.
How It Works
PA1-W04 installs directly into Option Slot A of a compatible Plus Series controller, giving the host controller a basic auxiliary analog input it can use as a remote setpoint source. It is designed specifically for the Plus Series platform and is not compatible with older West N-series controllers. Because Option Slot A and Option Slot B serve related functions, the manual specifies that PA1-W04 must not be fitted alongside a full auxiliary input module already installed in Slot B.
Key Features
- Adds basic remote/auxiliary setpoint input capability to Plus Series controllers
- Simple plug-in installation into Option Slot A
- Compatible across the Plus Series range, including 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4 DIN models
- Cost-effective upgrade path for existing installations that need remote setpoint control
Applications
PA1-W04 is used wherever a West Plus Series controller needs its setpoint driven remotely, such as from a PLC, SCADA system, or master controller, rather than being set locally at the panel, and is a common addition on multi-zone process lines coordinated by a higher-level control system.
