West PMA KS 41-1 Continuous PID Temperature Controller
The West PMA KS 41-1 is a 1/8 DIN horizontal-format controller built around continuous PID control, giving processes that need smooth, proportional heating or cooling response a dedicated single-loop solution. It shares the same rugged industrial platform as the rest of the KS series while its wider, shorter horizontal case suits panel layouts where that footprint fits better than a vertical 1/8 DIN unit.
How It Works
KS 41-1 accepts a universal input covering thermocouple, RTD, or DC linear mA/mV sensors, with external setpoint and heating current monitoring available for supervisory integration. Its continuous PID control algorithm modulates output smoothly rather than simply switching on and off, and up to three outputs can be configured as three relays or two relays plus a universal linear mA/VDC output to drive proportional final control elements. Modbus RS422/485 communications let it report status and receive commands from a wider control system.
Key Features
- Continuous PID control for smooth, proportional process response
- 1/8 DIN horizontal case for space-constrained panel layouts
- Universal input with external setpoint and heating current monitoring
- Up to 3 configurable outputs, including relay and linear mA/VDC options
- Modbus RS422/485 communications
- IP65-rated front panel, type tested to EN 14597
Applications
KS 41-1 suits industrial heating and heating/cooling processes that benefit from smooth, continuous PID modulation rather than simple on-off switching, including furnaces, ovens, and process equipment where a horizontal panel cutout is preferred.
