West 4100+ Digital Temperature Controller
Getting a process to hold its setpoint reliably shouldn’t mean wrestling with a controller’s menu system every time something changes. The West 4100+ is a single-loop digital temperature controller built to be configured once and trusted from then on, with a plug-in card architecture that lets you fit exactly the inputs and outputs the application calls for.
How It Works
The controller reads a thermocouple, RTD, or DC linear signal from the process and drives an output — relay, SSR, triac, or linear — using full PID control with pre-tune and self-tune, or simple on-off control when that’s all a process needs. Dual setpoints, with optional remote selection, let one controller cover two operating conditions without reprogramming, while independently configurable alarms flag process or loop conditions before they become a problem.
Key Features
- Plug-in output modules — fit only the functions the application needs
- Dual setpoints with optional remote selection
- Full PID with pre-tune and self-tune, or on-off control
- Process and loop alarms for proactive monitoring
- Optional RS485 communications for supervisory control and data logging
Applications
Used across plastics processing, packaging, ovens and furnaces, and general industrial heating where a compact, panel-mounted controller needs to hold a setpoint accurately and flag trouble early.
