The MTT MS3762 Slim Plug-In Subtractor takes two independent DC current or voltage signals and produces a single output proportional to the difference between them. This is a convenient way to derive deviation, differential, or trim measurements directly at the field-panel level, such as calculating the pressure difference across a filter or the deviation between a setpoint signal and a live process value, without needing custom subtraction logic programmed into a PLC.
Independently configurable scaling factors on each input allow the two signals to be weighted before the subtraction is performed, so engineers can build differential calculations that match the specific ratio required by the process. Front-accessible trimmers provide on-site zero and span adjustment, and an optional fast-response configuration is available for applications where the differential output needs to track rapidly changing inputs. Four-way galvanic isolation between input, output, and power keeps the subtracted signal clean and protected from ground loops elsewhere in the panel.
