We had an enquiry from a customer setting up a weighing system who needed a panel conditioner for a strain gauge load cell, with field calibration and alarm relays. The ADtek ST-SG covers this, plugging into the same 11-pin socket as the rest of ADtek’s ST series, and it’s commonly used on weighing systems, packing machines, and tension control.
This looks simple, but strain gauge signal conditioning still needs some care. The ST-SG measures 0~1.0/2.0/4.0/10.0/20.0/40.0mV/V (you specify the range), with ±0.04% accuracy – so we would need your load cell’s mV/V output range before quoting. It also supports field calibration directly against the strain gauge, which is handy if you don’t want to send it back to a lab every time.
In actual application, the ST-SG gives you 1 analogue output, 1 RS-485 port, 3 relay outputs, and an excitation supply output, with cross-selection allowing up to 4 of these active at once – more outputs available than most of the other ST conditioners, useful if you need alarms plus communication plus excitation for the load cell itself. CE approved.
From our experience, before we quote this, we would normally check your load cell’s mV/V output range, how many relay alarms you need, and whether you need the excitation supply output for the load cell. Hope this helps.
