We had an enquiry from a customer running a woodworking machine who needed a small, economical incremental encoder for speed and position feedback, and mentioned they were replacing an older Hengstler RIM type unit that was going obsolete.
Hengstler’s ICURO RI41 is a direct replacement for the older type RIM encoder. It is an economical small encoder giving up to 14,400 steps with 3,600 lines, with a 6mm solid shaft, push-pull output, CE and cULus approvals, and protection class IP40. It has high mechanical performance and is commonly used on woodworking machines, miniature motors, graphics machinery, and table-top robots.
From our experience, before we quote this, we would normally check the exact resolution (lines) needed and confirm the mounting matches your existing RIM unit if this is a replacement job. Hope this helps.
