Custody transfer and fuel distribution header customers running frequency volumetric flowmeters need a way to prove the meter is still accurate, without shutting the line down to do it. The Contrec 515 MP01 Mass Flow Computer with Master Proving is built for exactly that.
It keeps line volumetric and mass flowrates running independently from the proving totals, while a secondary dual frequency channel reads raw pulse data from a reference master meter. From this it calculates a recommended Meter Factor for current flow conditions, on the fly, without interrupting the active process.
Live temperature and pressure inputs feed into a flow-weighted averaging calculation, rather than a simple time average, so accuracy holds up even with variable flow and thermal conditions. It comes in a weather-tight enclosure with a backlit display, 4-20mA retransmission, an adjustable 8-24V DC excitation supply, and Modbus RTU communications.
Before we quote this, we would normally check your line and master meter flowmeter types, your proving frequency requirements, and your line pressure and temperature range.
Hope this helps.
