Natural gas fiscal and custody transfer metering using an ISO 5167 or V-Cone differential pressure element needs gas density and compressibility corrected for the actual gas composition. The Contrec 515 GN04 Natural Gas Flow Computer is built for this, with built-in profiles for 9 ISO 5167 meter types plus 2 V-Cone configurations.
It resolves gas density, compressibility, and Reynolds number using the AGA-8 Detailed Characterization Method across gas matrices with up to 21 components, and works out gross heating values per ISO 6976:1995 and GPA 2172-96. It also has a Detail or Basic main menu, so operators can pick the level of detail they need day to day.
In actual application, this unit usually sits out on process plant rather than in a control room, so it comes in a weatherproof IP65 housing. It also has an adjustable 8-24V DC sensor supply for integration into plant systems.
Before we quote this, we would normally check your DP element type and calibration standard, your full gas composition analysis, and your line pressure and temperature.
Hope this helps.
