The Contrec 434 is a batch controller for flow applications needing precise control of batch quantities, reading a pulse or frequency signal from a flowmeter. It drives two relays for single or dual-stage valve control, so a fast-closing valve can be slowed down before the target is reached rather than overshooting the batch.
Batch presets and calibration parameters are entered through a 16-key numeric keypad, with dedicated keys for batch set, rate, accumulated total, start, stop, and reset, so day-to-day operation doesn’t need a menu system to navigate. RS232 and RS485 ports let it talk to a printer for ticket printing or a computer for logging. For sites with humid or corrosive conditions, there’s an optional conformal coating that extends the operating temperature range down to -20°C.
Before we quote this, we would normally confirm the flowmeter’s pulse output characteristics, whether AC or DC power is available on site, and whether the optional 4-20mA output or conformal coating is actually needed. Hope this helps.
