We had an enquiry from a customer with a differential-pressure flow transmitter putting out a 4~20mA signal, who needed a local panel display – but their reading looked wrong because flow signals from DP-type transmitters aren’t linear with the raw mA output. The ADtek CS2-PR handles this directly, with a built-in square root function for exactly this situation.
This looks simple, but if you just feed a DP transmitter’s raw 4~20mA into a standard linear indicator, the displayed number won’t track actual flow correctly – you need square root extraction to convert the signal properly. The CS2-PR reads 0~10V and 0(4)~20mA in one indicator (input code AV), with the square root function built in, so it can be set up correctly for either linear process signals or DP-derived flow.
In actual application, the CS2-PR comes with 4 relays (individually programmable Hi/Lo/Hi Latch/Lo Latch/Go, with delay and hysteresis, or as remote control), 3 external control inputs (including Tare), and analogue output or RS-485 Modbus RTU as options. CE and RoHS compliant.
From our experience, before we quote this, we would normally check whether your signal needs the square root function (DP-type flow) or is already linear, your exact input range, how many relays and what functions you need, and whether you need the analogue or RS-485 option. Hope this helps.
