We had an enquiry from a customer running a cable-cutting line who needed a length counter reading pulses from an encoder, with a preset relay to stop the line at the right length. The ADtek CS2-CT is a straightforward fit – a 5-digit preset counter built for exactly this kind of length, position, and batch counting.
This looks simple, but pulse counters vary in how fast a pulse train they can actually count accurately, and that matters on high-speed lines. The CS2-CT reads 0.01Hz~8KHz, and accepts Contact, NPN, PNP, or Voltage pulse types – switchable at the rear of the meter. If your encoder or sensor is putting out pulses faster than 8KHz, this isn’t the right model – worth confirming before ordering.
In actual application, the CS2-CT gives you 4 pre-set banks for relay functions, each set up for a different application, selectable via the 3 external control inputs or front key. Up to 4 relays can each be programmed for N/R/C mode with energized time settings, and the 3 external control inputs handle Reset and Gate functions. Analogue output and RS-485 (Modbus RTU) are available as options. It’s commonly used with proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, and encoders for counting up/down, length measurement, positioning, and batch display – typical applications include cable machinery and paper/printing machinery. CE and RoHS compliant.
From our experience, before we quote this, we would normally check your actual pulse frequency and sensor type, how many banks and relays your application needs, and whether you need the analogue or RS-485 option. Hope this helps.
