Product details

We had an enquiry from a customer running a Pt100 RTD sensor on a machine and needing a panel display with a couple of alarm relays built in, rather than wiring the sensor back to a separate controller. The ADtek CS2-T covers this – and thermocouple inputs as well, on the same base unit.

This looks simple, but “temperature indicator” covers quite a wide range of sensor types, and the CS2-T needs to be set to match yours. It reads Pt100Ω RTD on two ranges (-50.00~199.99°C or -150.0~800.0°C), or thermocouple types K (0~1200°C), J (0~750°C), E (0~1000°C), or T (0~400°C). Get the wrong range or thermocouple type set and the reading will be off, sometimes badly.

In actual application, the CS2-T gives 16-bit A/D resolution, with accuracy of ≤0.1% of F.S. ±1°C on Pt100Ω and ≤0.2% of F.S. ±1°C on thermocouple, a 15 cycles/second sampling rate, and response time of 100ms or better under standard settings. Cold junction compensation for thermocouple inputs holds to within 0.5°C error at 25±10°C ambient. It comes with 4 relays (individually programmable for Hi/Lo/Hi Latch/Lo Latch/Go, with delay and hysteresis, or as remote control outputs), 3 external control inputs, and analogue output or RS-485 Modbus RTU as options. CE and RoHS compliant.

From our experience, before we quote this, we would normally check your exact sensor type (Pt100Ω or which thermocouple type) and the temperature range you need to cover, how many relays and what alarm functions you want, and whether you need the analogue or RS-485 option. Hope this helps.
