The Setra Model 280G is a high-precision gauge pressure transducer, built to give good performance without the price tag of a premium transducer. It uses a machined monolithic capacitive sensing element, which gets it to ±0.073% FS accuracy and better linearity than transducers built around two-piece soldered inductive components, since there’s no soldered joint that can fail over time.
In actual application, the sensor is linearized and temperature compensated during manufacturing, so the accuracy holds up across the operating range rather than needing field correction. It comes in standard ranges from 25 PSI up to 10,000 PSI, so it covers most general industrial pressure work out of the box.
From our experience, the zero and span potentiometer is a nice touch for long-term use. It lets you keep the unit performing well through its life cycle without swapping it out, and the wide range of pressure and electrical interface options means it fits most standard mounting configurations without a special order part.
