FineTek JTR Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter

Steam, foam, and agitation are exactly the conditions that trip up most level sensors — which is why the FineTek JTR guided wave radar level transmitter uses contact measurement instead. That direct-contact approach lets it deliver dependable continuous level readings for both solids and liquids in process conditions that defeat non-contact technologies.

How It Works

Electromagnetic pulses travel at the speed of light down a steel wire cable, tube, or rod probe. When a pulse reaches the surface of the medium, part of it reflects back as an echo along the same path to the transmitter. Advanced echo-wave processing converts that transit time into a precise level reading.

Operating PrincipleTransmits electromagnetic (microwave) pulses along a steel wire cable or rod probe. When the pulses encounter the surface of the medium being measured, part of the pulse is reflected back to the instrument along the same path as an echo wave; the time-of-flight is used to calculate the level height.
