The Contrec 515 MP01 is a reliable solution for measuring the mass flow of various products. This advanced instrument utilizes the frequency output from a mass flowmeter and includes an additional “master meter” input along with a Meter Factor for in-line proving.
The master meter input enables an “on-the-fly” proving run to be conducted against the line meter without disrupting the flow. A recommended Meter Factor is calculated and can be entered to ensure precise measurements under current flow conditions or to account for any minor degradation in the line meter’s performance.
This flow computer effectively maintains the line flow rate and total independently from the proving totals. Proving runs can be managed through RTU Modbus communications or via logic inputs located on the rear panel.
Calculations
The Meter Factor (MF) is a multiplication correction factor used for the line meter. It is applied to each total and rate sample as they are collected to ensure accurate values.
mass = MF × (pulses / k-factor)
The flow rate is calculated from an accurately measured frequency:
flow = MF × (frequency / k-factor)
