The Contrec 515 FA03 application pack is a versatile flow computer designed for energy measurement. It can add or subtract values from two frequency inputs or two analogue inputs, making it ideal for various industrial applications.
This flow computer effectively collects re-transmitted signals from other flow computers, providing accurate flow rates and totals. It displays the flow rate and total for each channel, along with the overall result, ensuring you have all the information you need at a glance.
The frequency input works with a wide variety of signals, including millivolt signals, reed switches, Namur proximity switches, and pulse trains. This flexibility is made possible through its user-friendly front panel program selection. The analogue input can be customized with scaling, filtering, non-linear correction, and cutoff points to enhance signal accuracy.
CALCULATIONS
For frequency inputs, the total calculations are precise, as the instrument captures every pulse detected on each channel.
Channel total = pulses/k-factor
Flow rates are calculated from the accurately measured frequency:
Channel flow = frequency/k-factor
For analogue inputs, the flow rate is derived by normalizing the analogue input to a value (A) between 0 and 1.
Channel flow = (Vfmax – Vfmin) A + Vfmin
Channel total = (channel flow. Δt)
The final results are calculated as follows:
ADD result = channel 1 + channel 2
SUB result = channel 1 – channel 2
