The Contrec 515 FA02 application pack is a versatile flow computer designed for precise mass measurement. It can add or subtract values from two frequency inputs or two analog inputs, making it ideal for various industrial applications.
This flow computer is perfect for receiving signals directly from flowmeters or gathering retransmitted signals from other flow computers. It provides accurate flow rates and total measurements for each channel, along with the overall result.
The frequency input works with a wide variety of signals, including millivolt signals, reed switches, Namur proximity switches, and pulse trains, thanks to its user-friendly front panel programming. The analog input can be customized with scaling, filtering, non-linear correction, and cutoff points to enhance signal accuracy.
CALCULATIONS
For frequency inputs, the total calculations are precise as the device captures every pulse detected on each channel.
Channel total = pulses/k-factor
Flow rates are calculated from the accurately measured frequency:
Channel flow = frequency/k-factor
For analog inputs, the flow rate is derived by normalizing the analog input to a value (A) between 0 and 1.
Channel flow = (Vfmax – Vfmin) A + Vfmin
Channel total = (channel flow × Δt)
The final results are calculated as follows:
ADD result = channel 1 + channel 2
SUB result = channel 1 – channel 2
