The Contrec 515 BF03 is a dual-stage batch and flow controller designed for delivering specific quantities at set flow rates using a mass frequency input. It can operate in either preset or on-off modes for batch control, while flow control can be configured for local (manual) operation or PI loop mode.
What sets this application apart from the standard batch controller is single or dual-stage relay control – so you can run a batch on one control relay, or split it across two (typically a fast-fill relay and a slow-fill relay) so the batch runs quickly for most of the delivery and then slows down near the target quantity for better final accuracy.
This system offers operators a clear local display that shows flow rate deviation, and it can be integrated into more automated systems for remote control via communications. Users can quickly access frequently used preset values directly from the front panel, provided they have the necessary authorization. The PI control of the process flow is managed through a 4-20mA proportional valve, with built-in wind-up protection, a deadband, output hold, and adjustable ramp time to minimize wear on valves and actuators.
Before we quote this, we would normally check the flowmeter’s pulse output type, whether you need single or dual-stage batching, the batch quantities and flow rates you need, and the valve or actuator you plan to control. Hope this helps.
