FineTek SA Series Capacitance Solid Level Switch
Few point-level sensors handle as broad a range of materials as the FineTek SA Series capacitance level switch, which detects liquids and solids alike — pastes, syrups, powders, granules, flakes, and chips — in a single rugged design suited to almost any industry.
How It Works
Capacitance switches work because every medium can store electrical energy to some degree. Two separated conductive plates form a capacitor, and whatever sits between them determines the stored charge. Since conductivity and dielectric constant vary by material, the switch detects the resulting capacitance change as soon as material surrounds the probe, and actuates its output accordingly.
