How It Works
The FDM relies on buoyancy and magnetism. Its float element, sized for a specific minimum fluid density, carries a magnet. As the float rises to meet the stationary stem, the magnet actuates a sealed reed switch, opening or closing the electrical contact — and the contact reverses state again as the magnet moves away.
