Contrec 515 Petroleum Consumption Flow Computer (FP03)

Custody transfer and fiscal measurement customers ask us for one thing above all: numbers that hold up to an audit. The Contrec 515 FP03 Petroleum Consumption Flow Computer is built for exactly that, working with dual-channel quadrature flowmeters.

The dual-channel quadrature input gives absolute signal verification, so pulse miscounts are caught rather than silently accepted, in line with ISO 6551 Level B pulse security. On top of the flow signal, it takes live temperature and density inputs and corrects volume to reference conditions in compliance with ASTM D1250-04 and ASTM-IP-API Table 54, covering crude oils, lube oils, refined products, LPG, and user-defined custom fluids. From this it computes net volume, gross volume, and mass flowrate together.

In actual application, this instrument usually sits out at a terminal or pipeline site, not in a control room, so it comes in a weather-tight enclosure with a backlit display and a tactile keypad for field use. It also has 4-20mA loop retransmission, an adjustable 8-24V DC sensor excitation supply, and dual RS-232/RS-485 Modbus RTU ports for terminal and pipeline network integration.

Before we quote this, we would normally check your flowmeter’s quadrature output, the fluid types you need to measure, and whether you need full custody-transfer grade certification or standard fiscal metering.

Hope this helps.
